Belly Only Prenatal Pilates Programme
I always scoffed at those posts about how to have a "belly only" pregnancy. Now that I am expecting our first, I am suddenly keen on maintaining as much of my fitness and my physique as possible while wanting an easy childbirth and a beautiful healthy baby at the end of it all. Not scoffing anymore.
If you're like me, your concerned about:
- Gaining tons of weight that takes forever to lose.
- Never losing the baby weight!
- Getting lots of stretch marks and lose skin.
- Never feeling in good shape again.
- Never having a flat tummy again.
- Feeling unattractive and unhappy with myself later in pregnancy.
- My sacroiliac and back pain returning with a vengeance!
Luckily I am a Pilates instructor! Pilates is one of the best forms of exercise for women throughout pregnancy and I have been teaching prenatal Pilates for seven years now. I truly think it is one of the best choices to have a comfortable, healthy and calm pregnancy.
I intend to have:
- Toned arms, thighs and bum to the end!
- Keep the lower back pain at bay for as long as possible.
- Only gain the minimum amount of healthy pregnancy weight, 11kg
- Prepare my pelvic floor for childbirth
- Have a much easier recovery
- Enjoy my pregnancy!

I thoroughly enjoyed pregnancy pilates classes with Emma. I attend classes with her from 13weeks until full term. The classes really enabled me to maintain a strong core and helped me understand the importance of my pelvic floor. I definitely think I would have been lost without them.
The pregnancy pilates was a really great support throughout my pregnancy. It taught me watch my posture and breath and I found it really useful through the birth and after. I would recommend this class. Thanks!!!
I liked having time out to relax , engage and continue with pilates exercises that I had done prior to pregnancy. The classes were challenging yet Emma catered specifically to the needs of a pregnant woman. The classes enabled me to stay calm during my pregnancy. Emma also provides specific stretches and exercises that can be practiced at home to ensure body aches don't become unbearable during pregnancy. I've attended the pregnancy classes three times now and would recommend highly.
Started with the pregnancy pilates classes which were brilliant, I had a quick labour and delivery on my first child and I think the classes really helped with that.
Started Barre after that. It is amazing! Emma pushes you which is great. I have a flat tummy, toned arms and legs and great flexibility thanks to Emma. Classes are always fun. Studio provides a perfect workout environment.
Having required physio post-pregnancy, I found Emma's ability to adapt moves, and even recommendations for home practice, excellent. Emma has in-depth ante-natal and postpartum training so however pregnancy has affected you physically, she's probably heard of it and can help.
Emma is highly qualified, motivated, enthusiastic, encouraging, also regularly up-skilling, training and sharing her new knowledge or moves. I really feel the benefit for days afterwards!
I attended Emma's Pregnacy Pilates course last year and found it so relaxing and beneficial. It was an hour to focus on myself and helped me prepare for my impending arrival.
After I had my daughter I returned to Emma's barre concept class. I was 6 months postpartum and I haven't looked back. Really enjoy the classes and it's helping me regain my pre pregnancy composure and have even more flexibility now then I did before. I would highly recommend Emma's classes.
